Smith, 30, the only non-local player at the OBL Chicago Regional, competed at Glen Oaks Community College in Michigan. His pro career included stints in Mexico and the Mid-Michigan Spartans and he now trains basketball players of all ages. He drove back and forth from Kalamazoo each day to compete in the OBL Chicago Regional, finishing the two days at 9-1 and winning the championship match 9-8 over fellow OBL Finals qualifier Yoshi Craig.
